We were still trying to get settled into our new apartment and in June Kenny's brother Michael left on his mission to Omaha, Nebraska. Other than that nothing major was happening in our little family of 3. Sure we'd go out of town to see family and that was always great! It wasn't until October that things started to get crazy for us. On Oct.1, 2011 Kenny started a new job at Dinosaurland Pediatrics as their IT Manager and he started his own computer repair business called Tech Logic. With his job at Dinosaurland Pediatrics he had to do a training in E-clinical works. It was a month long training and out of state. On October 19th the 3 of us headed out to Boston, MA for his training. We stayed in a town about 30-35 minutes outside of Boston called Westborough. During the week Kenny had his training but the weekend is when we got to go into Boston and do some sight seeing. It was so great seeing all the historical sites and spending time with Kenny's cousin Caleb and his family. I hope that we can do that again someday.
We got home from Boston on November 19th. Kenny headed back out to Vernal while Kylie and I stayed in Provo with my family. We spent Thanksgiving with them then headed back to Vernal the next day. In December we went to a few Christmas parties and out to Provo a couple more times. On December 18th we found out that we are expecting our second baby! We are all so excited. Even Kylie. She's really wanting a baby sister. We shall see if she gets one or not.
On Christmas Eve we spent time with Kenny's family at a family dinner at his Aunts house. Its always so great to get together with family. On Christmas day we talked to his brother on his mission which was great and we went with his parents and brother and sister to Deer Valley for a few days. It was so fun up there. Kenny enjoyed going skiing with his dad, brother, and sister while his mom, Kylie and I relaxed in the room and talked. After our few days with them we headed down to see my family. Again Kenny had to come back to Vernal for work while Kylie and I stayed in Provo for a few days.
On New Years Eve we spent time with my family at my Uncles house. My dad offered to watch Kylie for us while Kenny and I went to the Provo Beach Resort. It was so much fun.

2012 will be a busy one for us. Between Kenny's 2 jobs and him going back to school, our Church callings, and having another baby in August we have a lot to look forward to and so much more to be grateful for. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends who support us and are blessed with so many more things that we sometimes take for granted. We hope that you all have a great year!!

Boston Trip!

We are finally home from Boston. It was so fun being out there, but so nice to be home. While we were there we had a blast! We got to see some really cool historical sites and spent time with Caleb, Laura, and Brigham. (Kenny's cousin)

Some of the sites that we got to see where (with a little about them): Paul Revere's house -the house that Paul Revere owned while he lived in Boston.
The Old North Church - "hang one if by land, two if by sea." yep, this is the church where they hung the lanterns. I always thought that those lanterns meant how the British were attacking but its not. It was how the British were traveling to re-supply. At the time they had control of Boston and their supplies were in Concord if I remember that right. Also, as a 15 year old boy Paul Revere and some of his friends rang the bells in the bell tower there. That's how he knew that the steeple was the highest point in Boston at the time.
Old South Church- we didn't take a tour of this one.
The burial ground where Paul Revere is, Bunker Hill- "don't shoot until you see the whites of their eyes." Who doesn't know the story of Bunker hill? The site of the Boston Tea Party- where it all started. The site of the Boston Massacre- which wasn't really a massacre. The Navy Yard where they have the USS Constitution- aka: Old iron side. She is the oldest war ship still afloat today. She's 214 years old, is still manned by active Navy, they take her out once a year and shoot the cannons. She has been in 33 battles and hasn't lost one. She is made like an Oreo. In one of her battles with the British their cannon balls were bouncing right off of her and they said that "the ship is made of Iron." hence the name Old Iron side. We also saw the building that the crime of the century took place in and so much more.

It was so fun learning more about those sites. I think I learned more on this trip to Boston about our countries history than I ever did in school. If you love U.S. history as much as I do you should definitely take a trip to Boston. If you want to see pics head over to our fb page. If you don't have fb let me know and I'll email you the pics.

Trip to the E.R.? Check!

What a better way to spend your day, while out of state, than at the E.R. with your little sweetie. You're probably wondering why we were at the E.R. and what had happened, right? Well, lets start off by saying that 3 year olds have a mind of their own.

So this morning, after we had had breakfast, Kylie had asked me if she could have an apple. Since we had already had breakfast, and she won't eat lunch if she snacks between, I told her that she had to wait until lunch time to have it. You'd think that she'd probably just throw a fit and then drop it once she got put in time out. No, not Kylie. Throw the fit, yes. Drop it after she gets sent to time out, of course not. Anyway, before I got in the shower I had put her in her room with a t.v. show on that she likes. I thought she'd just sit their and watch it because she seemed really into it. Just as I was about to turn the water off and get out of the shower, seriously 5 min. later, she came running into the bathroom screaming, and crying, with blood everywhere on her. Of course I was freaking out but I knew I couldn't let her see that because it would only freak her out more than she already was.

Once I started cleaning her up she stopped crying because I told her everything was okay. I asked her how she had gotten hurt and she said that she had gotten hurt on her closet. So, I went into her room to see if I could find what on the closet had hurt her so bad. On the floor, next to the closet, I find her apple with a long, sharp, kitchen knife with the dull end stuck in the apple. She had decided that lunch time wasn't coming fast enough and that she was a big girl and could cut the apple herself. Well, she was wrong on that part. Since I don't know where the knives have been or how old they are, and since the cut on her left thumb looked deep to me, I called Kenny to come and get us so we could go to the E.R. Once she found out we had to go to the doctor she got really upset. Telling us that she was fine and didn't need to go. To make an already long story short, after about an hour and a half at the hospital she came out with 3 stitches. She is now terrified of knives, good thing too, and doesn't like the doctor even more.

I'm so grateful that she wasn't hurt worse than she was because she very well could have been. I'm also so grateful for such a wonderful husband who will drop everything to help take care of his family. One who is understanding and who helps comfort me when I feel absolutely terrible about what had happened to our baby. The doctors and nurses that helped Kylie were amazing! I'm so grateful for how patient, understanding, and at how well they did with her. Kylie is sure loving all of the attention she is getting from everyone when they see her "battle wounds."

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kennyandvanitycaldwell.blogspot.com/2011/11/trip-to-er-check.html' title='Trip to the E.R.? We're going to Boston, MA for almost 4 weeks. Kenny has started a new job at Dinosaur Land Pediatrics as their IT Manager and they are sending him out there for training. We are so grateful for this job and for this opportunity that we have to go as a family out to his training. Yeah, he'll have to work but we can still do fun things too. Kylie has been way excited ever since we told her. For the last 2 weeks all she keeps asking is "Are we going to Boston today?" It's starting to drive me crazy but at the same time it's really cute. This will be her first time on an airplane so we'll see how she handles that. Luckily, we have a non-stop flight so we won't have to worry about switching planes with her. I'm so grateful for such a wonderful husband who works so hard to provide for his family. I don't know what I would do without him.

Finally!!

So I was chatting with my friend on fb today and she reminded me that I haven't posted in forever. So I thought that I'd do a quick post. Kylie is finally potty trained!! She has been for the last few weeks. I'm just a slacker and haven't posted about it until now. She has been learning and growing so much. She can now count to 12 all by herself and she's starting to learn her shapes and colors. It's so fun to watch her learn new things. At night after we've read scriptures and it's time for prayer she has to say the prayer by herself. If you try and help her she gets mad...okay, so only when I try to help her does she get mad. She also loves to sleep in her little tent that my mom sent to her. It sits right on top of her bed and she sleeps in it. It's the craziest thing to me but, if it gets her to sleep in her bed, we'll stick with it.

Here's an update on what's going on in our family(ies.) My step-dad is in Afghanistan working for the next year or two and my mom, Sephora and Alex will be moving to Holland within the next month or two for the remainder of the time that my step-dad is working in Afghan. Thank heavens for skype so when they get over there we'll still be able to talk and see them. Kenny's brother Michael is on his mission in Omaha and is loving it so far. It's crazy to think that when he and the rest of my family come home Kylie will be 5. Is there a way that we can stop her from growing so fast? Other than that, things are going great and I'll try to be better at posting updates on here.

Just a little update!!

This past month has been very busy for us. On May 5th we went to Las Vegas to visit my family for the weekend. While we were there we celebrated Kenny's 26th birthday and Mother's Day, went to my sister Sephora's baptism, and met family from my moms side that we've never met before. My mom and step-dad took Kylie to the "dinosaur park" where they have a play area where you can get wet. Kylie LOVED it. Normally she doesn't like to get wet, but when Kenny and I got there, she was soaked!! She even tried to get her Oma wet. She didn't want to leave when it was time to get ready for the baptism.

When we got back to Vernal we went and house/dog sat for Kenny's grandma while she was out of town for a week. Kylie loves playing with her dog J.R.

By the time we got home I had so much that I had to catch up on. Laundry, house cleaning, putting things away. It was such a relief when it was finally all done. On the 29th Kylie had her 3rd birthday. It's crazy how fast time goes by. Sometimes I can't believe that she's 3. Before we know it she'll be in school.

The Story of Us

So the other day I was reading on of my friends blogs about how she and her husband met. I then realized that I don't have how Kenny and I met on our blog!! So I decided that I need to do that. But in order for me to tell you how we met I need to go back a few months to the things that led up to our meeting.

During the summer of 2006, after I graduated High School, I started waiting for a missionary. Lets call this missionary Joey. (Yes I have changed the name to protect the innocent...Or not so innocent.) I had dated him off and on all during high school and thought that maybe this time it was actually going to work out. Boy was I wrong. Joey had done things that I didn't agree with and saw somethings a lot differently than I did. So I decided to end things with him. (This was somewhere between October and November of '06) I know, I'm sure you're thinking that I'm terrible for writing off Joey during his best 2 years of his life. But I had good reason. Anyway, while I was waiting of Joey I prayed whether or not he and I were supposed to be together. And the answer I got was "the one you're supposed to be with you'll be with soon." And it was a lot sooner than I thought.

After I had ended it with him I didn't want to have a serious relationship for a while. So I moved on with my life. I got a job as a CNA at a nursing/rehab. center and made some really good friends. Well, somewhere near the beginning of January 2007 my mom called me, right after I finished my shift, and told me that she had just met the nicest guy who was a returned missionary. (At the time she was running her own daycare from home and one of the girls who brought their daughter to my mom brought a friend with her to pick up her daughter.) I told my mom that's cool. She then proceeded to tell me that she had given him my phone number so he could ask me out sometime. Well, that's my mom for ya!! Love you mom! I didn't know this at the time but later Kenny told me what my mom had said to him. She said to him "you look like a nice guy. You should date my daughter."

On January 11, 2007 I get a phone call while at work from a number I didn't recognize so I ignored it. Luckily, the guy was sweet enough to leave me a message. So I hurried and called him back. Who was this sweet guy?? It was Kenny!! He had asked me if I would go out with him that coming weekend. I felt so bad because I had to tell him no. I had already switched shifts with a co-worker and couldn't get out of it. But, I told him the next weekend I had off was the 27th and that I would love to go out with him then. A few days later we found out that we would be doubling with one of his friends and my sister.

On the day of our date my sister and I kept wondering what these guys looked like. Seeing how neither one of us had ever seen them. When they came to our door to pick us up I opened the door. And when I saw Kenny I knew that I was in trouble because I was already starting to like him!! It was his smile that started all of that. It was the BEST first date of my life ever!! We went rock climbing at the Quarry; to dinner at Zupas, to the movie Pursuit of Happiness and a little off roading when we waited for the movie to start. I had never felt more myself around a guy. We got along so well it was crazy. When it came time for my sister and I to get home they dropped us off. A few minutes later I get a call from Kenny saying that they had locked the keys in the car and that they were still in front of our house. So I went out and talked with them while they worked on getting into the car.

On January 29th I went over to Kenny's place after work and we just talked and got to know each other a little better. On the 30th I did the same thing...except this time we had our first kiss and decided that we wanted to date each other. We had so much fun together. On February 8th Kenny had gotten us tickets to go and see Jack's Mannequin. I had a blast!! We spent every moment that we could together. And when we weren't together we were texting.

On February 24, 2007 he brought me to Vernal to meet his family. It was his sisters birthday so he thought it would be a good time for me to go with him. I have to admit, I was pretty nervous. But I had a great time. On February 25th we had to head back home. When we got near the end of Provo Canyon Kenny asked me if I'd go on a walk with him. Of course I told him yes. So he pulled over at Provo Canyon park and told me to get out, turn around, and close my eyes. At this point I was wondering what the heck was going on. He then gave me a pearl necklace. It was so pretty. After that we started walking and we came to a bridge that crossed the Provo River. We stopped to look at how pretty it was with all the snow. Kenny then told me that he had a question for me. Then he decided against it. I told him that that wasn't fair. I really wanted to know what his question was. And that's when he asked me if I'd marry him. Obviously I said yes. And we were married July 19,2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. I've been so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. I love him more than anything and am so glad that I get to spend all of eternity with him.

Family Pictures Dec. 2010

Near the end of December 2010 we had Kenny's cousin Devin take our family pictures for us. It was a really fast move too. On Nov. 24th before we headed out to Provo to see my family for Thanksgiving Kenny stopped by and looked at it on his way home from work. He really liked it. On Nov. 26th we got a phone call saying that we got the place and that we could move in on Dec. 1st. So, we hurried and packed and got moved in. It was crazy! We still have most of our things out in Springville so until we can get them we're borrowing things from family. Here's a few pics for you to see our new place!!

Our Kitchen looking in from the living room

Upstairs Hallway

Mine and Kenny's room

Installing Husband 1.0

Like many of the women on the Caldwell side of the family I am married to a man who LOVES computers. I thought this was so funny and thought you'd all like it too. Enjoy!!

Installing Husband 1.0

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance -- particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0 In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0. and Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate
* * *
Dear Desperate:

First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System. Please enter the command: "http: I Thought You Loved Me.htm" and try to download Tears 6.2, and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse of the above applications can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources). Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash! Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.

You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Hot Food 3.0 and Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck,
Tech Support

Summer Fun

Just a little recap of July!

The last few weeks have been pretty busy for us. At the beginning of July my dad, step mom, brother Michael, Grandparents and Uncle all came out to Vernal for a little trip before Mike had to head back to Vegas. We went up Dry Fork for a little drive and hiked to see the Petroglyphs, to the Dinosaur Museum and up to Flaming Gorge and Red Canyon. It was so fun having them here for a few days. The last week of July Kylie and I went out to Provo to visit my family. We had such a great time. We even had a chance to see one of my best friends from high school. It was so good to see her!! Sadly, Kenny had to stay in Vernal to work. While we were gone Grandma Lila started to have her kitchen redone. There has been lots of tearing down old wallpaper, repainting and tearing out carpet and re-tiling. It will be so nice once its all finished.
Kenny is really enjoying his job. He works at Techris Design and really enjoys being a computer tech.
Kylie is just growing so fast. Recently she has learned "Ring around the Rosy" in Nursery and won't stop singing it. She's also been working on her ABC's and counting to 10. She is into everything!! I guess that's one of the many joys of having a 2 year old. She talks a lot too.
I just love watching her grow and learn. She's so much fun. There is no greater joy than being a wife and a mom. I wouldn't change it for the world.

Update!!

Oh wow, it sure has been a while since I've put anything on here.
We are now living out in Vernal. Kenny has a great job and I think he enjoys it.
Kylie is getting so big, so fast. She's now 2 years old. She's learning her ABC's and how to count to 10. She loves the Tinker Bell movies. She's getting to the point to where she can quote them and copy them in their actions. It's so funny to watch. She's also into everything!!! But that's the joy of having a 2 year old.
I'm super excited for the 3rd Twilight movie to come out! (For those of you who don't know I'm kind of obsessed with the Twilight Saga.) I think that I drive Kenny crazy with how much I talk about Twilight. (Thank Heaven for friends, and family, who are just as crazy as I am when it comes to Twilight.)
I think that's about it.
