February update

I thought it was about time that I updated our blog. So here I am.

I am finally 14 weeks pregnant!! Even though I still feel sick at times, I think the worst is over. Once we got to the second week of January I started the nightmare of morning sickness. I couldn't keep anything down and was in the E.R. at least once a week for an IV. The good news about that is that I haven't had to have an IV since Jan. 31st! The cravings are getting to me. I've craved pickles, sunflower seeds, sour apple straws, apples, chow mien, fried rice, strawberries, chips and salsa, and various fast food/ ice cream places that we sadly don't have in Vernal. (Burger Supreme, Baskin Robins and Malt Shoppe, you really should consider opening stores out here.) I've been so blessed to have such a wonderful hubby who has done most of the house work and grocery shopping since I've been pregnant; and for amazing in-laws who also come and help out when they can.

Kylie is such a cute little girl. Sadly, since this past Thursday, she has been sick with strep throat. After starting her on the amoxicillin we found out that she's allergic to it. Poor thing took after her mom with being allergic to the 'cillin' family. She is doing much better now that we have that figured out. She is also way excited to be a big sister. Every day she keeps asking if the baby is coming yet. And every night before she goes to bed she gives my tummy hugs and kisses and tells the baby goodnight. Kenny and I think that it's sweet that she's already bonding with her sibling.

Kenny is truly Superman. With working 2 jobs and going to school part time I don't know how he comes home every day to be Mr. Mom. He helps me so much around the house and with helping take care of Kylie. He even takes time to go with me to doctor appointments. I couldn't have asked for a better man to be my eternal companion and a daddy to our kids.
As the pregnancy goes on I'll do my best to update the blog. And I've got to get pictures on here again. I think I'll do a post full of pictures at some point.

2011 recap & adventures to come in 2012

2011 started off to be uneventful for us. We were still trying to get settled into our new apartment and in June Kenny's brother Michael left on his mission to Omaha, Nebraska. Other than that nothing major was happening in our little family of 3. Sure we'd go out of town to see family and that was always great! It wasn't until October that things started to get crazy for us. On Oct.1, 2011 Kenny started a new job at Dinosaurland Pediatrics as their IT Manager and he started his own computer repair business called Tech Logic. With his job at Dinosaurland Pediatrics he had to do a training in E-clinical works. It was a month long training and out of state. On October 19th the 3 of us headed out to Boston, MA for his training. We stayed in a town about 30-35 minutes outside of Boston called Westborough. During the week Kenny had his training but the weekend is when we got to go into Boston and do some sight seeing. It was so great seeing all the historical sites and spending time with Kenny's cousin Caleb and his family. I hope that we can do that again someday.
We got home from Boston on November 19th. Kenny headed back out to Vernal while Kylie and I stayed in Provo with my family. We spent Thanksgiving with them then headed back to Vernal the next day. In December we went to a few Christmas parties and out to Provo a couple more times. On December 18th we found out that we are expecting our second baby! We are all so excited. Even Kylie. She's really wanting a baby sister. We shall see if she gets one or not.
On Christmas Eve we spent time with Kenny's family at a family dinner at his Aunts house. Its always so great to get together with family. On Christmas day we talked to his brother on his mission which was great and we went with his parents and brother and sister to Deer Valley for a few days. It was so fun up there. Kenny enjoyed going skiing with his dad, brother, and sister while his mom, Kylie and I relaxed in the room and talked. After our few days with them we headed down to see my family. Again Kenny had to come back to Vernal for work while Kylie and I stayed in Provo for a few days.
On New Years Eve we spent time with my family at my Uncles house. My dad offered to watch Kylie for us while Kenny and I went to the Provo Beach Resort. It was so much fun.

2012 will be a busy one for us. Between Kenny's 2 jobs and him going back to school, our Church callings, and having another baby in August we have a lot to look forward to and so much more to be grateful for. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends who support us and are blessed with so many more things that we sometimes take for granted. We hope that you all have a great year!!

Boston Trip!

We are finally home from Boston. It was so fun being out there, but so nice to be home. While we were there we had a blast! We got to see some really cool historical sites and spent time with Caleb, Laura, and Brigham. (Kenny's cousin)

Some of the sites that we got to see where (with a little about them):
Paul Revere's house -the house that Paul Revere owned while he lived in Boston.
The Old North Church - "hang one if by land, two if by sea." yep, this is the church where they hung the lanterns. I always thought that those lanterns meant how the British were attacking but its not. It was how the British were traveling to re-supply. At the time they had control of Boston and their supplies were in Concord if I remember that right. Also, as a 15 year old boy Paul Revere and some of his friends rang the bells in the bell tower there. That's how he knew that the steeple was the highest point in Boston at the time.
Old South Church- we didn't take a tour of this one.
The burial ground where Paul Revere is,
Bunker Hill- "don't shoot until you see the whites of their eyes." Who doesn't know the story of Bunker hill? The site of the Boston Tea Party- where it all started. The site of the Boston Massacre- which wasn't really a massacre. The Navy Yard where they have the USS Constitution- aka: Old iron side. She is the oldest war ship still afloat today. She's 214 years old, is still manned by active Navy, they take her out once a year and shoot the cannons. She has been in 33 battles and hasn't lost one. She is made like an Oreo. In one of her battles with the British their cannon balls were bouncing right off of her and they said that "the ship is made of Iron." hence the name Old Iron side. We also saw the building that the crime of the century took place in and so much more.

It was so fun learning more about those sites. I think I learned more on this trip to Boston about our countries history than I ever did in school. If you love U.S. history as much as I do you should definitely take a trip to Boston. If you want to see pics head over to our fb page. If you don't have fb let me know and I'll email you the pics.

Trip to the E.R.? Check!

What a better way to spend your day, while out of state, than at the E.R. with your little sweetie. You're probably wondering why we were at the E.R. and what had happened, right? Well, lets start off by saying that 3 year olds have a mind of their own.

So this morning, after we had had breakfast, Kylie had asked me if she could have an apple. Since we had already had breakfast, and she won't eat lunch if she snacks between, I told her that she had to wait until lunch time to have it. You'd think that she'd probably just throw a fit and then drop it once she got put in time out. No, not Kylie. Throw the fit, yes. Drop it after she gets sent to time out, of course not. Anyway, before I got in the shower I had put her in her room with a t.v. show on that she likes. I thought she'd just sit their and watch it because she seemed really into it. Just as I was about to turn the water off and get out of the shower, seriously 5 min. later, she came running into the bathroom screaming, and crying, with blood everywhere on her. Of course I was freaking out but I knew I couldn't let her see that because it would only freak her out more than she already was.

Once I started cleaning her up she stopped crying because I told her everything was okay. I asked her how she had gotten hurt and she said that she had gotten hurt on her closet. So, I went into her room to see if I could find what on the closet had hurt her so bad. On the floor, next to the closet, I find her apple with a long, sharp, kitchen knife with the dull end stuck in the apple. She had decided that lunch time wasn't coming fast enough and that she was a big girl and could cut the apple herself. Well, she was wrong on that part. Since I don't know where the knives have been or how old they are, and since the cut on her left thumb looked deep to me, I called Kenny to come and get us so we could go to the E.R. Once she found out we had to go to the doctor she got really upset. Telling us that she was fine and didn't need to go. To make an already long story short, after about an hour and a half at the hospital she came out with 3 stitches. She is now terrified of knives, good thing too, and doesn't like the doctor even more.

I'm so grateful that she wasn't hurt worse than she was because she very well could have been. I'm also so grateful for such a wonderful husband who will drop everything to help take care of his family. One who is understanding and who helps comfort me when I feel absolutely terrible about what had happened to our baby. The doctors and nurses that helped Kylie were amazing! I'm so grateful for how patient, understanding, and at how well they did with her. Kylie is sure loving all of the attention she is getting from everyone when they see her "battle wounds."

We're going to Boston!!

It's official! We're going to Boston, MA for almost 4 weeks. Kenny has started a new job at Dinosaur Land Pediatrics as their IT Manager and they are sending him out there for training. We are so grateful for this job and for this opportunity that we have to go as a family out to his training. Yeah, he'll have to work but we can still do fun things too. Kylie has been way excited ever since we told her. For the last 2 weeks all she keeps asking is "Are we going to Boston today?" It's starting to drive me crazy but at the same time it's really cute. This will be her first time on an airplane so we'll see how she handles that. Luckily, we have a non-stop flight so we won't have to worry about switching planes with her. I'm so grateful for such a wonderful husband who works so hard to provide for his family. I don't know what I would do without him.

Finally!!

So I was chatting with my friend on fb today and she reminded me that I haven't posted in forever. So I thought that I'd do a quick post. Kylie is finally potty trained!! She has been for the last few weeks. I'm just a slacker and haven't posted about it until now. She has been learning and growing so much. She can now count to 12 all by herself and she's starting to learn her shapes and colors. It's so fun to watch her learn new things. At night after we've read scriptures and it's time for prayer she has to say the prayer by herself. If you try and help her she gets mad...okay, so only when I try to help her does she get mad. She also loves to sleep in her little tent that my mom sent to her. It sits right on top of her bed and she sleeps in it. It's the craziest thing to me but, if it gets her to sleep in her bed, we'll stick with it.

Here's an update on what's going on in our family(ies.) My step-dad is in Afghanistan working for the next year or two and my mom, Sephora and Alex will be moving to Holland within the next month or two for the remainder of the time that my step-dad is working in Afghan. Thank heavens for skype so when they get over there we'll still be able to talk and see them. Kenny's brother Michael is on his mission in Omaha and is loving it so far. It's crazy to think that when he and the rest of my family come home Kylie will be 5. Is there a way that we can stop her from growing so fast? Other than that, things are going great and I'll try to be better at posting updates on here.

Just a little update!!

This past month has been very busy for us. On May 5th we went to Las Vegas to visit my family for the weekend. While we were there we celebrated Kenny's 26th birthday and Mother's Day, went to my sister Sephora's baptism, and met family from my moms side that we've never met before. My mom and step-dad took Kylie to the "dinosaur park" where they have a play area where you can get wet. Kylie LOVED it. Normally she doesn't like to get wet, but when Kenny and I got there, she was soaked!! She even tried to get her Oma wet. She didn't want to leave when it was time to get ready for the baptism.

When we got back to Vernal we went and house/dog sat for Kenny's grandma while she was out of town for a week. Kylie loves playing with her dog J.R.

By the time we got home I had so much that I had to catch up on. Laundry, house cleaning, putting things away. It was such a relief when it was finally all done. On the 29th Kylie had her 3rd birthday. It's crazy how fast time goes by. Sometimes I can't believe that she's 3. Before we know it she'll be in school.
